Michael Douglas Dyhouse, born September 7, 1969, in Columbia, Missouri, to James (Jim) and Bernice Martin Dyhouse, passed away on January 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of family who cared deeply for him.

Mike had a deep love for music that stayed with him throughout his life. He had an incredible knowledge of artists, musicians, and genres and could talk for hours about songs and the stories behind them. Music was more than entertainment to Mike—it was something he truly understood and felt. When he was younger, he dreamed of becoming a DJ and sharing his love of music with others.

He also loved sports, especially basketball and football, and enjoyed following the games and teams he cared about. Baseball held a place in his interests as well, though basketball and football were always his favorites.

One of Mike’s favorite songs was the hymn “Higher Ground.” As a child, he would sing it while swinging or climbing, joyfully declaring, “Higher, higher in the love of Jesus, daily let me go.” His sister Debbie always loved that he held such joy in that song and in simple, playful moments.

Mike shared a beautiful life with his former wife, Lisa, and together they raised her son, Ricky, and their son, Cameron. Even though they did not remain married, they remained an important part of each other’s lives, co-parenting with love and mutual respect. Their bond remained strong, and they continued to love and support each other deeply.

Michael is survived by his loving mother, Bernice; his sister, Debbie; his brother, James; his sons, Cameron and Ricky; and his former wife, Lisa. He is also survived by his aunts Dorothy, Mary, and Helen; his uncle John; and many cousins and extended family members who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, James (Jim) Dyhouse.

Mike will be remembered for his love of music, his passion for sports, and the meaningful relationships he nurtured with family and friends. His joy, laughter, and unwavering love for those closest to him will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
